Twin brothers from Absecon, New Jersey, were taken into custody this week after Homeland Security officials alleged they threatened to kill a federal assistant secretary and called for ICE agents to be shot. The arrests followed a search warrant executed at their home on Tuesday.

Both Emilio and Ricardo Roman‑Flores, U.S. citizens residing in Absecon, were arrested Tuesday after a search warrant was executed at their home. Emilio faces charges of unlawful possession of an assault weapon, terroristic threats, cyber harassment and other offenses, while Ricardo is charged with conspiracy to commit terroristic threats. Officials shared an image of firearms seized during the investigation.

Investigation Background

The investigation began after the twins allegedly made online threats to kill Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin and to shoot ICE agents “on sight.” These statements prompted the DHS to act.
