Docuseries Launch

Taylor Swift announced that her six‑part docuseries will premiere on Disney+ on December 12.

Reflections on Criticism

During a December 10 episode of “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert, Swift spoke about the criticisms she faces in her career. She said, “I try really hard… not to do the like, ‘Oh my God, there’s no one who can relate to what I’m going through.’ Like nobody wants to hear that, I don’t want to hear that.”

She acknowledged the noise, adding, “I think there are certain corners of our society that really love and look up to longevity… There’s also corners that are like, ‘Give someone else a turn…’”

She clarified that she does not want to give up her longevity.

Support System

Swift shared that she has a number of confidants to help her navigate fame, including Stevie Nicks, producer Max Martin, and fiancé Travis Kelce. She told Colbert, “I can talk to him about any of this.”

Kelce was by her side when her efforts to buy back her masters came to fruition earlier this year. She added, “Getting engaged to the love of my life, getting all my music back… both of those things could have just never arrived… I’m so grateful.”

Love Story

The couple’s romance began during her Eras Tour, leading to an engagement in August. Their relationship and mutual support will be highlighted in the docuseries. Kelce’s initial attempt to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it during a Kansas City tour stop, followed by a public lament on his New Heights podcast, ultimately set the stage for their future together.

Swift recalled the moment, “This kind of felt more like I was in an ’80s John Hughes movie… I want to date you… I made you a friendship. Do you want to date me?” She noted, “if this guy isn’t crazy—which is a big if—this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.”
