Actor Kiefer Sutherland was taken into custody early Monday following accusations that he physically assaulted a ride-share driver in the Hollywood area, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault near an intersection just south of the Hollywood Hills. Police say Sutherland entered the driver’s vehicle and began attacking the driver while issuing what investigators described as “criminal threats toward the victim.”

The driver did not require medical treatment, authorities confirmed.

Sutherland was arrested on suspicion of felony criminal threats, LAPD told News Of Philadelphia. Jail records show he posted a $50,000 bond and was released a few hours later. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 2.
