A single-vehicle crossover on Veteran’s Highway in Bucks County turned fatal Sunday evening when a southbound Genesis lost control, veered into northbound lanes and crashed head-on into a Range Rover, according to Middletown Township police.

How the Crash Unfolded

Officers responded to the 6:05 p.m. call for a two-car collision near the Hong Luck restaurant in Levittown. An initial review shows the white Genesis GV80 was traveling south when it crossed the double-yellow line, entered the northbound lanes and struck the Range Rover with enough force to flip the Genesis onto its roof.

The driver of the Genesis, who has not been publicly identified, was trapped inside the overturned SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Range Rover came to rest upright; both its driver and passenger stayed on location and are assisting investigators.

Investigation Underway

Police have not released a possible cause for why the Genesis crossed into opposing traffic. Detectives are canvassing the area for:

  • Surveillance footage from nearby businesses
  • Dash-cam or phone video from passing motorists
  • Witness statements from anyone who saw the moments leading up to the impact

Officer Matt Balint is the lead investigator. Anyone with information is asked to contact him at 215-750-3845, extension 4114.

Road Closure and Traffic Impact

Veteran’s Highway was shut in both directions while emergency crews worked to free the trapped driver and clear wreckage. The closure backed up evening traffic through Levittown for several hours; the roadway reopened shortly before 10 p.m.
