A juvenile male died Monday afternoon from gunshot wounds inside a Chipotle restroom just off Temple University’s campus, according to Philadelphia police.
Officers arrived at North 12th Street and Montgomery Avenue at 5:15 p.m. for a reported shooting. They found the unidentified teen in the bathroom of the restaurant and pronounced him dead at 5:24 p.m., police said.
University officials emailed students warning them to avoid the area because of heavy police activity. Temple’s spring semester began the same day.
Investigators released no details on a motive or suspect, but surveillance footage shows a person of interest running from the scene. The Philadelphia Police Department is leading the investigation; Temple University police are assisting.
