Police are searching for a 21-year-old man accused of shooting his girlfriend inside a home in Northeast Philadelphia’s Oxford Circle neighborhood.
The Incident
Police responded to a reported shooting inside a home on the 1300 block of Passmore Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Monday night. They found a 21-year-old woman in a bedroom on the second floor suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was conscious and able to talk, then was taken to a hospital where she was placed in critical condition and is currently undergoing surgery.
The Suspect
Police determined that the woman’s 21-year-old boyfriend, who lived with her in the home, was the shooter. Surveillance video shows the man fleeing eastbound on Passmore Street. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket or hooded sweatshirt, gray pants, dark sneakers and a dark backpack. Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said the agency knows the suspect’s identity and last known address, and added, “We’re pretty confident we’re going to take him into custody soon since we know who we’re looking for.”
