A security guard shot one of two armed men during a 4:30 a.m. confrontation outside an after-hours club on the 900 block of East Hunting Park Avenue in Juniata Park, according to police.

Police told News Of Philadelphia the incident began when the two men approached the guard to confront him about an exchange they had the previous night. Both men brandished firearms, prompting the guard, who was also armed, to open fire and strike one of them.
As shots rang out, a car driving along East Hunting Park Avenue was hit. The occupants, believing they were being targeted, returned fire toward the people on the street.
Investigators estimate 10 to 15 shots were fired in total. Officers recovered two firearms at the scene and said at least one person was struck by gunfire.
The injured man was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Police confirmed several arrests have been made but did not release names or charges. The investigation remains active, and officials said updates would be provided later in the day.
