48-Year-Old Woman Drives Toyota Tacoma Through Pennsburg Beer and Soda Wall

A 48-year-old woman from Perkiomenville drove a 2025 Toyota Tacoma through the side wall of Pennsburg Beer and Soda, a Montgomery County shop, in an incident that was captured on surveillance video on Sunday.

Incident Details

The collision occurred at about 5 p.m. on Sunday, when the vehicle was reportedly traveling along the parking lot of the store on the 400 block of Pottstown Ave in Pennsburg. According to police, the driver was behind the wheel of the Toyota Tacoma when the vehicle struck the building’s exterior, causing significant damage to the storefront. Pennsburg Beer and Soda released the footage to the public after the incident, allowing the public to see the exact moment the vehicle made contact with the wall.

An employee at the shop told NBC10 that they had noticed the vehicle before the crash, describing it as driving along the parking lot with two flat tires. The employee added that the vehicle passed the shop, but the employee heard the crash and realized the impact had occurred.

Damage and Response

A manager at the shop said “the damage to the store tops $45,000.” Following the crash, officers at the scene suspected the driver was impaired and she allegedly admitted to police that she had been consuming alcohol before getting behind the wheel. However, the driver refused to participate in field sobriety testing, a decision that prompted officers to take further steps. She was taken to a nearby hospital for a blood alcohol test, where she was tested for the level of alcohol in her system. The driver was released into the custody of a family member after the hospital evaluation, pending the results of the blood testing.

Charges against the driver are pending and will be determined once the blood test results are available. The incident has drawn attention to the safety of commercial storefronts and the risks associated with impaired driving. Local authorities have emphasized that any evidence of alcohol consumption while operating a vehicle is taken seriously. As the investigation continues, the community awaits the outcome of the pending charges and any further statements from the parties involved.
